Pickleball Paddle Reviews

Prince Spectrum

PickleballCentral Paddle Review Program
Greg Stoner, Lead Instructor

First, the Lake of the Woods Pickleball Club (LOWPBC) wants to thank Charlsey Webster and PickleballCentral for allowing our Club to be a participant in the Paddle Review Program. Second, we want to thank Prince Pickleball Paddles for giving our Club members the opportunity to use their Prince Spectrum paddle to review.

LOWPBC members from new players in our Beginners class to our experienced 4.0 and 4.5 players had the opportunity to play with the Spectrum paddle. Overall, it was a paddle that performed very well for our members.

It is a paddle that performed well for both power and control. The new players in the Beginners class were very impressed by its ease of use. These players had never played pickleball and, to be able to play pickleball for the very first time with such a comfortable paddle, made for a very positive and rewarding experience. These new players were amazed at how comfortable the paddle felt in their hands. They loved the grip and this gave them confidence in their first attempt at learning to play. The new players loved the light feel which gave them more control over their shots than they had ever imagined. Having new players feel this good about a paddle really helps our Instructors to make this game a fun and rewarding experience.

Players in the other skill levels also were impressed with the Spectrum. One of our 4.0 players said that this paddle “seemed like the perfect combination of touch and control which enabled me to use both techniques in play.”

Other players in the mid-level skill rating category were also excited by the larger sweet spot that the Spectrum delivers. Personally, I love this paddle. It was the right weight and a very comfortable grip that enabled me to return any type of shot easily, either with power or softly. With the expanded sweet spot, it allowed me to have much better control over my shots than my present paddle.

As an Instructor and avid player, I think that this paddle is compatible with any skill level. It is light with a firm grip that enables new players to have a good and positive playing experience and it enables the higher skilled players to have control and power at the same time. I would give this paddle a 5 out of 5 performance rating. Also, our players, especially me, really loved the design and color of the paddle.
